Herbs and Spices

In Ayurveda herbs and spices balance the physiology through the sense of taste. The sweet, sour, bitter, astringent and pungent tastes all affect the balance of the doshas(Vata Pitta and Kapha). When the doshas are balanced we have health, contentment and strong immunity. In addition to taste, herbs have potency(heating or cooling property), aftertaste and  specific qualities. 

We choose spices to balance the doshas and create a healthier you. 

Herbs have specific qualities for areas of the physiology, for example, Bacopa (nourishing for the brain and nervous system), Valerian (settling for anxiety and helpful for sleep), Gingko (may help cognitive function). 

Herbs according to Ayurveda have vibratory patterns that enliven and harmonize those elements of the physiology with similar patterns. 

Spices like, cardamon, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon in combination with chocolate, enliven and nourish with free radical scavenging, antioxidant power, and adaptogen stress reduction.
